Flappy is the first book in the Merlin Woods Series. 
 
It tells the story of a pigeon whose wings are abnormally long and flap too loudly. He is bullied by the others and even asked to leave the woods. Lonely he is now lost. He hears of the kidnapping of the princess of the Claddagh and attempts to save her. It is this very feature that ends up making him a hero. 
 
With this storytelling session, we are trying to tell children to believe in themselves and never to let the bullies take the upper hand.
