This is the second book of the Merlin Woods Series.
 
Buster is a puppy who is bought as a Christmas present. When he starts to chew up various items in the family home, they decide he is too much hard work and abandon him at the edge of the woods. He nearly perishes but a smelly badger Billa comes along and saves his life. Together they become great friends and returning great kindness to Mrs Joyce, an old lady who brings food to the animals of the woods. 
Together they return kindness to Mrs Joyce who ends up in a tricky situation in the woods. They learn how kindness given will always return.
 
This storytelling session is about "Kindness given, always returns", and how the responsibility towards animals is for their whole lives.
